Who we are
Biscuit is an iOS pet-care app that helps pet parents check food safety, discover their pet's breed, and stay on top of daily care. We take your privacy seriously and we've tried to write this policy in plain language — no legalese required.
What we collect
Pet photos
When you scan food or your pet, we upload the photo to our AI service for analysis. The photo is deleted immediately after analysis completes — we never retain it. Only the text result (e.g. "Safe — apples are fine for dogs") is stored in your account.
Account information
Your email address (used to create and identify your account) and your pet's profile details — name, species, breed, age, and any notes you add.
Usage data
We collect anonymous usage events to understand which features people use most. This helps us improve the app. No personally identifiable information is tied to these events unless you're logged in.
How we store your data
Your account data is stored securely using Supabase, a postgres-based cloud database with row-level security. Data is encrypted at rest and in transit.
We do not sell your data to third parties. Ever.
Third-party services we use
Analytics — Mixpanel
We use Mixpanel to track anonymous usage events (feature taps, scan counts, session length). Mixpanel does not receive your pet photos. You can opt out of analytics in the app settings.
Crash reporting — Sentry
If the app crashes, Sentry captures a stack trace to help us fix the bug fast. Crash reports don't include pet photos or personally identifiable information.
Subscriptions — RevenueCat & Apple
Subscriptions are managed through Apple's App Store and tracked via RevenueCat. We never see or store your payment card details — Apple handles all billing. RevenueCat receives your Apple subscriber ID and subscription status only.
Children's privacy
Biscuit is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us their information, contact us at privacy@getbiscuit.cc and we will delete it promptly.
Your rights
You can:
- Request a copy of all data we hold about you
- Ask us to delete your account and all associated data
- Opt out of analytics tracking in the app settings
To make a data deletion or access request, email us at privacy@getbiscuit.cc. We respond within 5 business days.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent revision.
